Winterlude wraps up in Ottawa this weekend! Here is a list of some of the activities happening in and around Ottawa this weekend, beginning February 13, 2020:
This weekend is your last chance for Winterlude fun as the festival comes to a close Monday, February 17 (Family Day in Ontario). Check out lots of fun programming across this year’s official sites: the Rideau Canal Skateway, Snowflake Kingdom (Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau), and a new location on Sparks Street. Some of the fun Winterlude events happening this weekend, include: Gatineau Loppet, 40th Accora Village Bed Race for Kiwanis, Canadian Ice Carvers’ Society’s Ice-Carving Speed Challenge, Silent Disco Night, Night Lights: A creative Art and Light Festival, a roving DJ on the Rideau Canal Skateway, Mayor’s Annual Family Day Skating Party, and much more. Most of the activities are FREE!
Get around between Winterlude destinations using the SnoBus, offered during Winterlude on Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00am and 5:30pm and on Family Day (Monday, February 17) between 10:00am and 3:00pm. FREE!
It’s a big weekend for the Ottawa Senators with lots of chances to see them play! Watch them take on the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday, February 13; the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, February 15; the Dallas Stars on Sunday, February 16; and the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, February 18 all at the Canadian Tire Centre.
It’s maple season! Visit Vanier Museopark on Saturday, February 15 for a full day of tree tapping, or head to Fulton’s Pancake House & Sugar Bush for Maple Season on from Saturday, February 15 until mid-April!
It’s a ByWard Blizzard during Winterlude! Until Monday, February 17 swing by the neighbourhood for light and sound installations, a Lego pop-up, and more! This weekend, check out Free Wagon Rides and Petting Zoo, Andaz Ice Bar, and The Grand Ice Bar.
Immerse yourself in music and sound at the family friendly Big Bang Festival at the National Arts Centre! Saturday, February 15 to Monday, February 17 try interactive games, concerts, learn about instruments, and much more. Most of the activities are FREE!
Cheer on the Ottawa 67’s at home games this Sunday, February 16 and Monday, February 17 at Lansdowne!
Enjoy outdoor winter fun in the west end this weekend with Britannia Winter Trail Launch on Sunday, February 16 and the Kanata Nordik Snow Day at Wesley Clover Parks and Campground on Monday, February 17.
